In the middle of a restoration on a 66 GTO and want to start looking for the next, whats the best year to restore and what repro parts fit the best and whats the worst year and parts fit the worst.

I'd imagine anything with an Endura bumper with hideaways gets bumped up on the "harder" list. Numerous hours of extra work compared to just bolting on a chrome bumper.

My vote for worst would be 1973. There are no parts.

'68s have quite a few 'one year only' parts and don't seem to be valued quite as highly as the other pre-70s models. The good thing is that the buy-in is pretty reasonable.
Best return on investment (other than Judges) seem to be the '64-'67 cars.

For what I would call the "mainstream" Goats of 64-72, I agree with Greg.
I don't know if it gets easier than the 66.

As far as front end parts not much out there being reproduced for the 71-72 models. What original parts that can be found can be somewhat pricey and some of those may need some work. Only hoods being reproduced are in fiberglass, front valance panels are available in both steel and fiberglass, fenders only in fiberglass. No reproduction core supports.

I agree! I lost count of the hours it took to do my endura and hideaways, but the cost and time were both substantial.

Easiest would be '65-'67, IMO. They are simpler cars with a lot less plastic than the later models. Less complex. Many parts reproduced. Good return on investiment. '73 would be the toughest: lots of plastic, no parts reproduced, rare to begin with.

Easiest is the one you like best. Mental motivation will defeat any drawbacks about parts availability of ease of restoration.
