I can relate to what some of you guys have said. Back in the Musclecar era, I reckin we just sorta took it for granted that it would last forever. I would have probably never took a single pic of any of our street or race cars. But, I'm glad TJ did take quite a few. Now, I can think of lots of pics I WISH we had made. Anyhow, when those old cars got up to around 100,000 miles or so, most of 'em were considered just old wore out cars. And that included Birds and Goats.

I bought at least a humpteen Goats and probably 3 dozen or more Birds. Also bought other A-bodies, GP's, and Big cars, for engines and parts. Had a pretty good Pontiac junkyard, right beside my shop.

I raced some, sold some, and just kept some for parts. Anyhow, I sold a '68 Bird roller, to a guy who lived in a nearby town. He said I also gave him 2 parts cars to go with it. I do not remember the deal at all. He built a bracket racer out of 'em, and ran down into the 11's with an old school 455.

He called me a few years back, and said that he knew where his old car was, and that it was for sale, in case I was interested. Well, to make a long story short, TJ bought the car for me, less the BBC engine that was in it. So, I decided to make a sort of low budget nostalgia bracket car out of it. We made it look sorta like the last two 1st gen Birds TJ raced. It's running, but not ready to race yet. Hope to get it together enuff to make it to the track this year.

I believe that Nunzi once owned this car, he may have been the original owner.

Original '68 400, 4 speed. Complete frame off, nut and bolt resto. Sold new here in West L.A. at Jules Meyers Pontiac. All matching numbers right down to the carb, distributor, alternator and starter. Car is correct as per PHS documentation with the exception of the period correct Lakewood traction bars which were just too cool not to be part of the resto process, the rear Rally II's widened to 10 inches for a period correct fatty look and the Gabriel Hi-Jackers to accommodate them.

I'm not usually a fan of the (rerun from previous custom decades) black out wheels, paint and trim. BUT in this case I LIKE IT! Well done sir! Thx for sharing.
