Victory!

After months of being on back order, the door panels and seat covers have arrived.

Thanks, working on the interior now. I'll post some pictures once we have some significant progress to show.

Interior is nearly finished...

On another note, does anyone know what retains the chrome on the back of the fenders? There are two notches, and the trim has two small holes. Also, really need to find some better rear window trim.

Thanks guys, not sure on the stripe. Originally, we were thinking black. Now, unsure... might clash with the rest of the car. How about gold? I wish I could see some good pictures of both, or Photoshop them onto our car.

That color is a tough one to stripe! Gold might be cool.

This one might be close to showing the look?

Black is correct I believe, but what about white to match the interior? Would be stunning with the Sundance!

The interior is actually a light tan, not white. Similar to the Covert Tan interior in my 72' Chevelle. Pontiac might have called it sandalwood?

Getting close, wrapping up all of the underneath stuff... bad proportioning valve, exhaust leak, etc.

Nice work it is looking awesome! Your thread makes me not want to sell my 70 GTO coupe and instead start working on it. Anyways, you're work is inspiring.

I would have a hard time selling that car. A 70' GTO with a 4 speed is on my "list."

I got sidetracked with other things more pressing in life. But, finally getting back to work on this car. I gave up earlier this year, the car is a hard starting SOB. I need to figure out why. Ken @ Everyday did this one, he also did the Qjet for my 72' Monte Carlo. The one for the Monte was awesome right out of the box. Maybe something with the choke adjustment that I am missing?

Also, even with a new proportioning valve, I can't get fluid to the front calipers. This car is so close, but is fighting me extra hard all of a sudden.

Your black dash and steering wheel are confusing...'70-'72 Sandalwood is a two-tone interior, with light door panels, seats, console, headliner, and darker steering column, steering wheel, kick panels, dash, and A-pillars (like this '71, not mine):

Originally this car had a white interior with the black dash, column, etc.

I ordered a choke rod and box for a 68'-70' from the parts place. I had to slightly tweak it, but it works. Also found that the distributor cap was loose. (My father is slipping in his old age) Still having issues with the brakes, despite everything being new. I am thinking a faulty master cylinder by some of the symptoms. Also, doesn't seem to be charging. I started it, let it warm up, put it on the lift. Spent 30-40 minutes going over the brakes, went to move it - dead.

I also removed the 3.07:1 posi 12 bolt and installed a fresh XV coded 3.55:1 posi 12 bolt. I am hoping to drive the car this summer, just too many projects and a nutty schedule slowing me down.
