The person who will try to squeeze a car around a tractor trailer is the same kind of person who will take a seat and make a phone call in a recently smashed car, that probably has still connected battery and is leaking fluids - probably gas.

Cool - buildings
There's a spire up there I cast, that eagle probably has some of my DNA via blood and sweat as well. Not to mention several other parts of that.

Made the straight white ones on this one.
I worked on a lot of building parts, both new and restoration. Work at a gfrc shop, have for 15 years. Many ornate buildings in many cities. Can't remember them all; cmu, fletc, Mellon 2, sv temple, Toyota stadium archway in Toronto.... Got this fountain in a town square somewhere too - over in Ohio. I seldom get to see the 'burgh. Friends need to show me how to get around, then I'm like I made that, and I'm not yanking their chain. It's brutal, dirty, and tiring. I can't see me surviving into my 50s here, but I've never been 50 before though.

Jon, my hat's off to you! It's more than just pride having old time skills like that, it's a legacy that lives on from those who know you and worked with you.

Thanks, I'm just lucky to have a job though. I've made a lot of terra cotta replacement blocks for Chicago buildings over the years - lots of historic buildings over there. I'd like to see the city someday.

I work on the heating systems on these old buildings. Systems and designs that most companies have zero idea about. There are literally no "young guns" out there coming into this specialty field. Most new construction is HVAC so systems like two pipe steam, vacuum systems are tantamount to steam locomotives! One of the cool things about my job is everyday I have no idea where or what I'll be working on.
