The famous Merchandise Mart, before the Pentagon it was the world's largest building (volume wise) and one of the first to have its own zip code!

Could you feel the heat of that reflection?

I love those huge old buildings before they became so tall. I remember our old Sears and Roebuck regional store ... it was huge, you could find items on the shelves in the hardware section that were 30 years old.

Let's warm things up a little, going from chilly Chicago to down to sunny South Beach. A little Art Deco styling…

Default Schwinn Stingray

Looks like a late 1964 Schwinn "Super Deluxe" Stingray fitted with a McCulloch chain saw.

It has an earlier Solo-Polo seat and the Rare "Yellow Oval Slik" on the back.

I've been to MIA many times and am partial to it as well. My lovely wife was born and raised there, it's awesome alright! They have Bayside, we have Navy Pier, and there's plenty to see other than the required South Beach. I can't really compare MIA to any other US city, it has its own identity much like CHI which is also a melting pot but they are a world apart in every other way.

They are installing a bigger Ferris Wheel that will be done in time for the flood of tourists this spring, yet the city is "broke" go figure
