Default How to install trunk lock

Trying to put in new trunk lock and I can see how the "clip" that goes through the bottom of the lid secures the lock but I can't get them to lock together while trying to install in the lid. Any tips? Thanks

They are a bit of a pain but when you push the lock plate up it has to catch the lock cylinder at the ridge just right. It will take more then a few tries, at least it did for me. Just keep at it. I forgot to add that the lock goes in through the lock bracket or the holder or lock that holds it in. The lock needs to go in the trunk lid while the Lets call it the holder,, is in but not pushed all the way up. It will be about 80% in & then while the lock cylinder is in you push up as the lock cylinder has to catch the lock cylinder as you push up. It looks like its a key slot, the big end & when you push up it goes into the small end of the holder. When you look at the holder you will see how the hole the lock cylinder is shaped. The big end is where the look cylinder goes through & then you push up it will catch the tabs on the cylinder to lock it in.

That's what I've been trying to do, guess I'll just have to keep doing it over and over.

They have gone together easy for me. Once the clip is in place, the clip is riveted to the trunk lid.
