ported head question..
is it normal to go into the head bolt hole on a set of heads when porting them? if so would there be an issue with running them? i got a set of heads that have been ported by butler, and after taking them apart was told that they intruded into the head bolt hole on some of the exhaust ports. the guy at the machine shop said it shouldnt be a big issue. is this a big issue or just normal? any input would be appreciated..thanks

Jamie, shouldn't be a problem. My old RA4 heads were that way and. I ran them for years with no problems.

What heads are we taking about here?
If iron what casting number? in general if I was doing the motor and new that some head bolts where doing that I would apply 5 more ft lbs of torque to those bolts due to them heating up more in use and giving up some clamping force!
