Default Goodyear Reproduction Radials

I wanted to give you a heads up. Kelsey is getting ready to release a couple of tires that you guys might be interested in. GR70-15Goodyear Steelgard radials RWL are already on the market, but introduction of the White Stripe version will coming out sometime in March. Also being introduced this spring is the GR70-15 Goodyear Custom Tread otherwise known as the "Steel Belted Radial" will be available in RWL and White Stripe. This last tire is the GM TPC Spec tread pattern that was available in '76 and '77.

Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have about these and any of the reproduction Goodyears that Kelsey makes. My cell is 816-654-3400.

Thanks

Rusty

Right now I would say 'no'. A lot of things come into play, but the cost is going to be a big part of it. Kelsey is in the business of reproducing classic tires. To build a new tire from scratch is not what he wants to do.

Question

Any more info on the release of the GoodYear Steel Belted Radials? I will have a low mile '77 T/A that would greatly benefit from these.

I just got off the phone. The Custom Tread RWL is due to start showing up in the warehouse toward the end of May. I will let you know when they show up and when I have pricing.

My cell is 816-654-3400.

Default HR-70 15 Radials - 235-70-15

Next size up is HR70-15 which was factory on my 74 Chevy Laguna 454 and 75 Hurst Olds 455. The Laguna was a White Stripe while the Hurst Olds was Raised White Letter.

It would be great to produce these tires with RWL on one side and White Stripe on the other to make one tire to fill either need. The cars of this era never came with black walls from the factory.

Aren't these also correct for later years F-bodies? I remember a GF's new 79 T/A that had these.

Default Summer Tread Pattern

It would be nice to see a summer tread pattern as most classic cars will not be driven in snow.

John,

I don't see this particular tire coming to market. The number of cars wearing that size will be a relatively small number restored/ wearing the right size. I would like to help with that, but I would say that the GR70-15-- 225/70/15 are going to be the size that is seeing the market due to the number of cars wearing that size.

Contact me if you have any questions. My cell is 816-654-3400.
