On that red 74 Esprit in Denver the ad states low mi original car. However the vinyl top has a single seam up the middle. Is that correct for an original GM installed Firebird vinyl top?

It was mentioned that this car needed to be added to the cream puff thread.
47000 mi 400 2V optioned 1974 Esprit. 1 repaint over reasonably clean body. Has 400 2V, T400, assume 3.08 open. ps, pdb, power windows, tilt column, RTS with handling package, white with white vinyl top, white interior with red accents. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Still looking for an answer to my earlier vinyl top question. Should there be 1 seam up the center on the vinyl top or two up the sides?
The white car below allegedly had a new top installed when the car was painted in 1989 & sports 1 seam up middle. On that red 74 Esprit in Denver the ad states low mi original car. However the vinyl top has a single seam up the middle. Is that correct for an original GM installed Firebird vinyl top? |

Original GM is dual seam. Cheap aftermarket replacements were single seam.

2manyT/A's for the link on youtube. I listened to 50 and 60's music for two hours. Lots of memories of that time period for me. Mike

1974 Pontiac Firebird Esprit Coupe, 37,500 ORIGINAL miles at time of posting. 350 V8 engine. Red with white vinyl top (new). This is a great original car. Dash, console, etc in excellent condition. Originally bought with s/r glass, body side mouldings, a/c (needs charged only, all components present and functioning), front seat console, power brakes, turbo-hyd transmission, rally wheels, electric clock, am radio ( now has am/fm cassette) and rear seat speakers. New brakes, water pump, gaskets, new emissions (though exempt) (qualifies for collector plates, no registration every year). New dual exhaust (w/flow master and chrome tips) new headliner and transmission service (incl all gaskets/seals), new tune up including plugs, wires, dcap, etc., Also had carb rebuilt within the last month. Runs excellent. Have all emblems, front bumper filler (though not installed), etc. A very good example of an original car.
