When I worked in the GM plant in Framingham in 1972, it looked exactly like the plants in the video.

We used those same optical headlamp aim tools when I started in Flint in 1979.

My only other comment: the assembly plant shown at 4:25 is actually the Pontiac East assembly plant, building (at the time) Chevrolet and GMC pickup trucks. It was demolished in 2012.

When we came to the Bloomfield Hills GTOAA convention in 1985 we took at trip to the G Body plant in Pontiac to see if we could get a tour. My father in law used to work for Fisher Guide in Columbus Ohio back in the 60s and talked our way into the office telling them he had a 1985 Grand National on order. His car wasn't scheduled for build yet but we ended up getting the best tour I have ever had at any plant. We went to the foundry, the stamping plant, the paint shop and the body shop. We watched the bodies come out of the trucks shipped from Flint and also the chassis' coming in on the train cars. We actually got to go from the beginning through delivery. This was our whole family 4 adults and unheard of 2 children. They used a couple of stretch golf carts to take us through and it was AWESOME! In 87 we came back to see his GNX which was probably sitting in the yard waiting to be shipped or already at ASC waiting for the conversion to start. We got a tour through the Fiero plant then but they were shut down and it was strange to walk through a plant that was almost abandoned feeling. Little did we know what was to come
