Default Convertible Firebird 1967-1969 3" Exhaust

Sharing my experience with Doug's D port Headers and Flowmaster American Thunder 3" system in a first gen convertible.
Flowmaster and Pypes said their 3" systems will not fit.
I purchased the Flowmaster anyway and here is what I got to fit.
Doug's D port headers
Hotchkis Cross brace (with extra shims at rear)
3" flowmaster system with super 40s, factory exit
it was tight but it does fit.
had to shim the rear of the hotchkis plate and trim the quarters where the exhaust exits.

here are two more. final welded assembly after lots of fitting and final exits.
left the muffler exit connections as clamps with tack welds for quick removal.

Nice job. 2.5's are a tough fit between the quarter and leaf, so kudo's on making 3" not rattle around like a cowbell!

I'm guessing he needed more cowbell and that is why he went with 3"

Very nice work! Tail pipes tuck up in the quarter perfectly.
