68 GTO oil filter?
Dumb question, what was the original oil filter on a 68 GTO? Thanks. PF-24?, PF-7?, PF-30?, White?, Blue? Embossed? Thanks.

The original was PF24. They were pure white, the ones with the logo were replacement ones for the consumer. They knew what filter they were putting on at the factory so no need for the extra silkscreen. Also stay away from NOS oils filters, the filter in them is so old and brittle, a good way to ruin an engine. The modern PF24's are junk, basically a Fram filter made at the same plant. WIX makes good filters and they're white already, O'rieleys and Carquest sell them as their house brands.

I bought a couple of these & painted the filter white. Might not be exactly correct, but looks better than an orange fram

We do the same, Take FILTER of choice, Paint it white.
You can add Decal if desired. Here is a cross over list for PF24; http://www.oilfilter-crossreference..../AC-Delco/PF24
