I don't know any of he details of the accident, but Tom had a bad wreck at Maple Grove yesterday in his 7 second Grand Am.
Got word from his sister this afternoon that he came out of a 6 1/2 hour surgery a little while ago. His hand was messed up pretty bad. They reattached his thumb and set pins in his hand and all of his fingers. The next week is going to be crucial for the recovery of his hand. She said otherwise he was just pretty banged up buy in OK spirits given his situation. Photos are from Scott Rex. ![]() ![]()

Wow that's rough, I pray he regains full movement and control (or close to it) of his hand!
Could have been worse and I'm glad it wasn't. Best wishes for a quick recovery! Alex

I spoke to Tom's dad. Tom is alert and talking. He has some recovery in front of him, but he will be OK. Considering the speed of this accident, it could have ended much worse. Good Luck and best wishes to Tom and his whole family.

The Doctors, these days, can do great stuff even with bad wrecks.
Hope the hand heals properly and the rest of his body recovers from the stress and bruises of the crash. Tom V.

Tom,
My wife Teresa and I wish you a very speedy recovery. We'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers. It looks like you'll be needing a new decal. Aah, made you laugh. If you need us, you know where we are, Larry S.
