Default Vin on trans for '68

I need to crawl under my late production '68 GTO TH400 to be sure but I recall it having a partial vin on the trans. Built first week of June, 68.

Your LeMans is a beautiful car!

Thanks everyone for the compliments and replies. It does have the ST-300. I should have crawled underneath and looked better before just trusting my faulty info. Also driving it now, I only count the 1-2 shift. Got a Wix filter kit from Summit and serviced the trans over the weekend. I couldn't find one local at any of the big name parts stores (Advanced, AZ, Napa, O'reilly). The new filter and oil did smooth out the 1-2 shift which was what I was hoping for.

Took my parents out to eat in it Sunday...priceless!

The shift linkage attachment, cooling lines, speedo, driveshaft yoke etc. all interchange between the Super Turbine 300 and the Turbo 350. The only problem is it might be harder to pull it into 1st gear if you swap in a Turbo 350. My friend put one in his '67 Lemans with no problems at all and used a Shiftworks conversion to be able to manually shift the console shifter. He went to a tranny shop and bought a rebuilt unit off the shelf just asked for a BOP bellhousing unit. Turbo Hydro 400s in '69 Lemans might be part of a trailer towing option.

Your car is great looking in & out. Now I rebuilt an engine for a cust. about 25 years ago & her car had a T-400 in it from the factory. Her car was a 350 2 bbl car & when I rebuilt the engine I installed a 4 bbl on it.
