Can't imagine how they came up with that price when they priced this car at only $2K more.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pontiac-GTO-...m=252490127119
Because when the top comes down, the price goes up!!

FAR too many people don't consider the "big picture"!!

I actually kinda like the Cameo Ivory '66. All it needs is another pedal.
Notice in the description, this guy that's been in the business for 35 years tells us that the '66 was not available with trips.

Another interesting eBay car.
'67 GTO
'66 quarter panels
'67 rear bumper
'66 tail panel
'67 header panel and grilles
'66 rocker trim and possible fenders
Why go through so much trouble to make a car look good and have it so WRONG?
I think it's a beautiful appearing car, love the color, but I just couldn't live with that mixed bag Frankenstein deal. I can't understand it.

Those tailpipes leave a lot to be desired too.

Maybe someone swapped a 67 VIN into a 66?

I have a line on a 66-67 corvette like that. The whole car body screams 67, but it has a clean title as a 66. The vin tag is 66 but has the wrong rivets. Its dont nothing but rot in a barn for 40 years. Theres a chance its a chopshop car from the early 70s, but its probably more likely the dude took a hit on his 66 and put the 67 body over the top. The exact truth im sure is lost to time.

Thanks man... I'm trying to decide on Rallye1's or dog-dish caps. It's a stripper model with manual steering and brakes, the poverty caps with redlines seem like a natural fit for the car.

Straight on hit that was so hard, the dash buckled.
But hey, if that 421 is a Super Duty block (not likely), it might be worth the money, along with the 8-lugs & tires.

Console is 67 too. And those seats.... they have the incorrect PUI 66 seat covers. Front and rear. LOL

I hope the seller realized the abortion he had and pulled the auction. That could have been a good case for fraud by the buyer.
