Would that be the alternator that's on my 74 Esprit? I think it's the original alt with 73k miles.

The '74 could be one of a couple numbers. They changed late in the build year.

The 1100927 is the open faced alternator used on 1970 Firebirds.

The open face unit was used until '71, then went to the other frame.
His car is a '73 (made late in '72) in case someone has a date code close.

1970 birds used open face 1100902 (37A) and 1100903 (55A) alternators. 71 birds had the open face 927 and 928 alternators. Starting with May 71 dated alternators they were no longer open face but retained the same 927 and 928 part numbers. I think these closed faced versions were used into the mid 70s but not sure of exactly the end point. I have an april 71 dated 928 that is open face and may 71 dated 927 and 928 both closed.

Bhakola, what date do you need?

My mistake. I just remember him looking for a water pump with the "72" stamped on it.

I used the Wallace Racing website for alternator p/ns, and they show the 1100927 used in 1970, 1971, 1972, and 1973. I have a 37A alternator on my shelf off of a 70 T/A, and I thought it was the 927. I'll have to check.
