thats awsome taman! i had a new best last weekend too but they are done for the year at my dragstrip. next spring im hoping to come close to 11.1's! my best so far is 11.28 at 122mph. best mph so far is 123+.

can i ask what your launch technique is? i see you tried a 2500 rpm launch & got best 60ft's. so far i can only launch off idle or maybe 1100rpm & can only graduallly hit WOT. if i hold it to say 1500 & reallly mash teh pedal i just spin my tires. very frustrating as i know theres more in the car but i cant get an ideal launch. average 60ft is 1.70 but my best last weekend got a 1.65. my car has zero traction aids, 255/60 m/t et street radials & a super stiff road race type suspension... that is killing the times im sure! any tips on how youre launching the car & what traction aids do you have? i am considering cal-tracs & maybe a little wider tire.

great times, 10.99 isnt far away!

Default where to buy?

I have been looking for 308 ring and pinion for 8.2 BOP style rear end. No one seems to produce an after market ring and pinion for that type rear end. Anyone know where I could find one or who may produce one. All I find is a Chevy style that would require a yoke change. Thanks in advance.

All I have for traction aids are cheap 3 way CE shocks 90/10 front 50/50rear,my car has stock suspension and actually is fairly stiff.I normally launch from idle and hit the convertor hard..with my old car I found the same as you from a higher launch it would spin..so I have been launching from idle or just above for years and that was carried over to the present car.I've been fighting a small hesitation upon launch...so I thought I'd try stalling up the car..and it seems to work as long as the track is decent.

Another point I can add is I'm now running 275/60/15 et pros and they are a better tire than the old et streets..you don't need as much burnout..and when I slightly spin I still run a decent et..instead of smoking the tires bad..

What tire size are you wanting to run?I run a 275/60/15 with a 3.08...just use a rpm calculator to find a tire size and a available rearend ratio that is close..

thanks for the launch info, i may try stalling up a little higher next time out. i will be looking into new tires soon but still have some life in these. i do have some cheap summit 3 way adj shocks but thats it. the PTFB GT suspension kit if just too stiff for any real drag use. but i built the car with a multi purpose in mind, street, strip & some corner carving.

might try a different intake too just to see if there is any improvements over the SD ported cast iron im running now... if anything just to get that 40lb hunk of iron off the nose!

Just the weight off the nose can help a lot...my battery and starter weigh 23 lbs total!I'm using a little Braille 2015 battery weighs 15lbs!

ta man, looks like you are really doing something good with tuning. 11.04 @ 123.6 is fantastic! With a 3.08 gear set is again fantastic!

thought the t2 was the better intake? i run a q-jet so need the spread bore flange. i have one of the cheap repro single plane intakes, hurricane i think. i might play with that & steal its water x-over. i have a formula hood on a 72 firebird so am limited to only a couple intakes that will fit under the hood...

Pretty well..it does discharge slightly so its nice to keep it on a battery tender or disconnect it.No real issues..when I first installed the battery it was turning an old starter that needed a bit of juice to crank the engine..did fine with it...with the RobbMC mini..it just whips it over hot or cold..

I believe I can get it down a bit more just with carb, timing and very minor suspension and chassis work...I'd like to get out again this year before any major changes are made this winter.
