Poll: Deluxe Wheel, Wood Sport Wheel, or Formula Wheel
As the title says which is your favorite? This question is not based on which wheel your car has, but which you like best.
I'm a Wood Sport Wheel guy. I just bought a repro Max Performance wood wheel for my '70 Judge from Ames and love it. I'll be wrapping my original Formula wheel up and packing it away for safe keeping, so it can be reinstalled at a later date. Nate

Your wheel looks nice!
I've kinda got mixed feelings about the wood wheel and formula wheel. In certain cars and interiors, some just look better in. I guess I like the wood style wheel more in the '69 and older cars and the formula wheel in the '70 and newer cars. Not sure why though! But I don't think think you can go wrong with either one!

In a 70 there is nothing better then the Formula wheel. Wish it was an option in 69!

That car would look so much better with the Formula wheel, in my opinion. The wood wheel just kind of looks out of place with the black interior.

Agree. On the subject of Formula wheels, are the collars/hubs always black, no matter what color interior? I have sandalwood and with the black collar, it does not look as good as black interiors do, the steering column is tan and the black hub stands out like a sore thumb. That's my only complaint about the formula wheel...

I like the formula wheel but I always felt it somehow looked more at home on a 70-81 bird than a goat.

Had the wood wheel on it in dazed and confused. I later removed it and put on a formula wheel.
Then a few years ago went back to the wood wheel. I think I prefer the custom sport wood wheel... Although I kept the formula wheel and hardware in case I decide to swap back.

Was it also an automatic car at one time? Or did they use a different one for interior shots? Nate

Other car was an auto; however, you never actually saw the shifter. The dual gate you see when they leave the gas station was actually a triple black 68 gto auto his/hers. You can see it partially parked at the top notch in a couple scenes. Pat sold it to Richard Linklater after filming. It was used extensively in the movie, "Boyhood" as well

I spoke with the owner at the time, and he said neither car was equipped with an 8 track. I believe they installed some sort of prop 8 track in one of them for the scene. A section of the original wood viny in mine was cut just above the 8 track just like in the scene. Plus the cigarette lighter had a funky wear pattern that is identical to mine. So I assume it was this one--but no way to know with 100% certainty since I wasn't there
