Default 64 and 65 doors.

I did several searches but can't find the answer. Are 64 and 65 doors interchangeable? I have an interchange book that says they are but not sure.

If your talking about 64-65 LeMans - GTO doors. The answer is yes. As long as you match post doors to post doors and hardtop to hardtop.

I believe the difference is the lock cylinder clip. 65's are internal while 64 doors have a slot in the door jamb for a longer clip.

It seems some 64 doors don't have the slot for the lock cylinder. Between me and buddy we have 4 64s we are working on some have them some don't.

I am not referring to the regulator , i am talking about the glass channel holder , regulator for manual vs. power windows are totally different & has nothing to do with the regulator . Glass holders are the same for manual & power windows .

Let's start over there are 2 types of glass holders for door & 1/4 glass , the 1st. type is Heavy chrome plated Die-cast holders that the edge of glass gets wrapped with rubber setting tape & pressed / pounded into the Diecast holder . The 2nd. & later design the glass has holes in it & gets a rubber strip around the lower edge & bolts into stamped steel holders . Both styles will accept both regulators - manual roll-up windows & power operated windows , as it does not matter what type of glass holders you have , meaning manual vs. power . The difference is the regulators , not the glass holders .

Everything is different inside the doors on a post vs. hardtop/convertible--except for the door latches.
