Vacuum Can visability
How visible is the hideaway vacuum can? I was media blasting small parts this morning & was saddened to find my can is rusted through in several areas.
 Trying to decide if I want to seal it with JB weld or buy an aftermarket. I noticed some of the aftermarket cans have similar (not sure if its the same) ribs, but none of them have the original style vacuum connector. I bought repop fender wells many years ago so I lost the location of the mounting holes. I wish I would have kept the originals more more reasons than one. I chucked them years ago not realizing how many things are different. There is pitting on the ends of the can, but almost none on the sides.

Hidden behind the fender and the battery. I had to use a flash to make it visible and you only see the side. First time I look at it in 25 years, car is super rustfree but I see in the photo my can has a bit of acid splash from its early days with the factory battery.
Keep the paint mat-dull for an original look

Ironically that's what I am working on right now. Battery acid damage. The core support in that same area is rust pitted pretty bad. Passengers side is minimal. Not so lucky on the drivers side near the battery tray. Those old batteries were so destructive. So, Filling in the pits & fixing a few dings on the core support. It's endless.....
