These are from the New Years Eve party I was at and Sunday morning. Mark Farner of Grand Funk Railroad fame. Greater even on Sunday morning [1-1-17] as I got him out to drive the GTO. Other than the party he said it made his weekend even better. And even a plus it was the first outing of the New Year for the Goat.
Just a small gathering of 80 people. And Mark doing what he does best. ![]() Just back from our ride Sunday...... ![]()

Mark sounds just like he did back in the day. We even had a discussion on this. Of all those rock stars from back then, many have lost the voice even tho a lot of them haven't. Mark still has it is all, even his wife Lisa agreed with us. If ever there was a chance to pal around with him and learn from him, I'd do it in a heart beat. But as Mark and Lisa said, they are busier than they ever thought they'd be. The big thing for them is a tour to South America this year. Several stops in various countries down there.... and they can't wait for it to happen.
As you might not know, he's no longer with Grand Funk Railroad. You could say he was "railroaded" out of his band. Mark has a few more expletive words as to what happened that I can't say.

Very cool! Grand Funk Railroad... One of America's greatest rock bands. Love those guys. I know Mark's not heading up the band any longer, but him, Don, and Mel built the foundation so many other bands climbed to the top on. I bet you had a blast. |

You can bet I sure did. He's one hell of a great guy. His wife is pretty cool too, tho she didn't go for the ride with us. I guess she's afraid of his driving. LOL He'll sit and shoot the **** with ya just like you've been friends for years. Not many of these rock stars that will do that at all. As for an autograph, no charge. I didn't get him to sign my car (yet), but he did a shirt and sunvisor for me 4 years ago.
Does that make the car worth more. LOL

I bought a set of these stickers from John Marcella and put them on my Glasstek fiberglass hood.

I took the first two pics today. I finally got the 73 K10 moving under its own power!
A little background on the truck: I bought it way up in Maine for $300 almost two years ago. Initial plans were to drop another drivetrain in it, and drive as is. After looking it over closely, I decided to do a total frame up which included a new cab from NC,and a LM7 5.3 mated to a TH350/NP205. ![]() ![]()

That K10 looks great- I got in a similar situation on our K5. Wife's grandfather bought it new- brother found it on a couple hundred acres he bought and gave it to me for Christmas two years ago.... as he says it's the gift that keeps on giving!
Day he gave it to us: ![]() Cutting away the rust: ![]() After my buddy painted it: ![]() ![]() Sorry for the hijack- just excited about the truck |

Great looking truck! I love the 73-74 grill, which is the main reason I decided to restore my truck.
That K5 has come a long way!
