ls swap questions
I've been thinking about this for awhile. I have a 67 gto post that is not very original anyway. currently running a 455 and a 200r4. I really want to drive this car as a daily driver I was thinking the ls swap would be nice. not looking to make a race car just a very reliable cruiser. I was wondering about an approx. cost of the total swap . also wondering if this is a good deal.

Bryan I will try to answer your questions. The motor in the ad with the extra stuff he has listed to go with it is probably a good deal. Lower mileage motors bring more money. Keep in mind that the oil pan, fuel tank, and headers are for an f-body and may or may not work in your a-body. The harness, ECM, should work in any car. As to the cost of an LS swap a lot depends on how much you can do yourself and whether you can do some fabrication and welding. I have done a 64 Tempest and am currently doing a 65 Lemans. Doing all the work myself with the exception of the ECM retune and reworking the stock wiring harness I am budgeting 6 to 7k including the cost of a drop out LS1/4l60e package. If you want a breakdown on the costs send me a PM with your email address. Hope this Helps.

HAHAH I'm going through this same delimma... I have a built 455 that I just can't seem to running right. I already have a forged 370 with LS3 top end and alot of the accessories but thinking about doing Terminator EFI this summer just to get SOME miles out of the 455...You might want to try that since your starting fresh. Invest money in the fuel system and terminator enjoy it for a few summers (you know how it goes) then you have the fuel and the computer\wideband for the LSx you just need the Holley LS harness. Ok I think I just talked myself into it.
