Like a glove! I could not believe how great this product was...And the guys at Belden Speed & Engineering are great to work with....
The photos here are after the welding was complete, the grinding of the welds done and now ready for primer...

Default Forward Progress to Paint!

As of noon today, the '71 Lemans Sport is now ready for primer and color edging. Have I said I'm stoked? 5 months of watching, asking questions, cutting apart, fitting parts x 9, welding, grinding, sanding, filling, block sanding to get Blu BiYu where she is today!... Yep...STOKED!!...

Seam Seal on the trunk, floor boards and around the welds in the back seat area.
I am planning on completing the trunk area with Duplicor TSP102 Spatter Paint.
The interior floor pans will have U-POL Raptor Black Truck Bed Liner..

Default Interior Time

Did I mention "interior"? Let the shopping begin! Will be completely removing the dash to "see what's under there".
I have been stating that I want white and not parchment...Pearl White would look so awesome against the "Blu" with the red accents on the car...

Neither did I. Had to fabricate mine using file folder material as templates, cut the metal to shape, weld, weld, weld the pieces together and then weld into place. Very time consuming.
I see that they sell them for '66-'67 Ponchos...I will be doing some business with them as I have the same problem with that car. Good to know!

Greg, you will not be sorry you did! This move saved me so much time and not to mention not having to purchase a new roof skin!...

Guess what tomorrow is...other than Saturday? It's my first lesson in the art of painting a vehicle...
I spent all day today getting her ready for her primer. Masked everything off and even made a couple of cardboard templates for both doors and windows. Ya know how easy it is to mask yourself into a corner? Luckily, I left an opening in the windshield to make my escape...
Thanks Clark Gick for teaching this old man a thing or two!...

Block Sanding front fenders and lead work on the quarters/roof section..
We are ever-so-close to putting her into the booth....
Also realized that the quarters did not have holes punched for the emblems. I so happened to find one of the old quarters in the trash. I made a simple template on the Passenger side. The Driver side, I used measurements from the other....
When in doubt.....improvise!....

More photos of yesterday's painting...
Final passes of the "Blu BiYu" Color. This is where she all comes together!
When weighing paint by the ounce...pour very slowly and hope you don't have to sneeze or Clark Gick tests you by telling a joke! ...
In my book of my career as a CenturyLink employee....I see this as a success! Thanks so much Clark Gick for allowing my learning from the Best!
