So go suck on a banana.

So how much horsepower is an engine making if it propels a 3000 lb car to a 171 mph quarter mile trap speed ?
From Langer:
Quote:
It won't... you need around 460-480 cfm to make 1200 hp na on a 565" Pontiac. I can say I have a dyno sheet that says I make 1500hp but if I don't run the number did I really make 1500 hp?
Hp from Et and MPH

Well... that calculation says I make 1200 hp based on et and 1350 hp based on mph... can I say my junk makes 1350? If it did, it's a turd.

Thank you I will try to pay more attention from now on.

Is that how one would learn H-beam rods are three times stronger than I beam rods and weigh half as much?

I'd seen Mike's car , it was impressive as hell!!! I'm not easy to impress.

It's great if KRE are going to provide a head that gives you guys another option. Didn't I just read somebody was was having trouble getting HPs or Tigers?
Pretty much, Mike made it a point to tell me the valves were in stock location. "steel" guides, dont know, thats what the man said. But I do know he thought it was a little funny to have stock valve location E heads making 1220 HP, 414cfm and some heads with moved valves, laid over, 500ish cfm and made around 1300 HP. He liked it, and why wouldnt he ?
He was coming after some I got the feeling. Wish we could have all found out what the end would have been.
The 7.95 was done on tires with 40-50 passes on them. They were not fresh. He thought there was more in the 60 foot. And you racers know, if your car has any sort of pull to it, a great 60 foot will show up on the other end. Kind of all about the 60 foot in a way. When you have a great start, you can tell and hope for a clean pass and wait for the time slip.

That talking dyno must not have to pay to maintain that engine.

If your car is only using 1350 HP out of 1500? HP, then that should suggest that your wasting 150 HP somewhere?
(need to listen to the car now? )

What weather data did you use in that calculator?

Or it doesn't make 1500hp. I used the actual weather conditions at the time of the et achieved.

Racers also know that very cool temps will give you more HP. He was flying never the less.

So, since you answered with what seems to be an inaccurate calculator.

I'll ask you this way .... whether you believe the dyno sheet or not.

Doesn't the on track performance back up the HP claim?

You can answer correctly or let it go ....

Did you do the calculation?
What did it show if you did?

The MPH will show what HP was used to get that speed.
(doesn't mean that is what the total HP of engine is)

BTW, are you trying to imply that I don't think the 414 CFM won't make 1200 HP?

Yes. And it struck a nerve with me knowing exactly where those numbers are from.

You need to talk to Langer, he's the one who doesn't believe it.
