Of course, I'm partial but I think Mayfair Maize is one of the colors that looks better with a vinyl top.

I like the look of a vinyl top on a classic car.

I just had a vinyl top installed on my car. I purchased the Legendary top from Ames and paid a local, reputable upholstery shop to do the install. I was pleased with the job they did and also the quality of the Legendary top. The Legendary vinyl top and the drip rail moldings Ames sells got high marks from the upholstery shop crew.
I pulled the original vinyl top off several years ago to fix the rust around the rear window but other other than that, there was virtually no rust anywhere on the roof under the vinyl. I suspect the car spent most of its life garaged. |

So that stainless steel drip rail in the photos is all aftermarket? Looks nice.

Thanks. Yes, the drip rail molding set (2 short lengths along the sides of the windshield, 2 escutcheons, and 2 long rails for the roof) is the one Ames sells for $105. Good enough for a driver and then some. The molding around the rear of the vinyl top is OEM.
