So the Black Car has headed off for media blasting...the wait is on. Tom said it will probably be sometime md-weel before a prognosis is rendered.
Meanwhile, MPD has gotten some of the engine accessory assembly started. ![]() ![]()

So here is what Steve turned me onto this morning - a dealer car emblem from London Motor Products which is where the Black Car was sold new. Now to decide whether it goes on the car? Doesn't say whether it is studded or not.
This eBay seller has a ton of Canadian dealer car emblems. Here is a link to one. If you have a car from a Canadian dealer it might be worth checking his other items. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-ROBI...IAAOSw3mpXI93k

Good info, I just subscribed to this seller since my trans am came from Port Elgin Ontario, about 2 1/2 hours north of London. The dealer sticker is still on my tail panel, but I would like to get some additional dealer stuff.

That old thing...I almost forgot about it.
It's slowly grinding along. The subframe and core support are back from powdercoating, and the body is in the sheet metal shop getting a few issues addressed. I'll be happy to see it finished, but since the Red Car rolled into town I've had plenty to keep me busy. It will be spectacular when finished, but that's still a hazy vision. Right now I'm happy with all the money Tom is making flipping cars, because I know he'll use some of the profits for a proper paint booth.

Hard to believe that it has been exactly 6 months since I posted on this old dead thread. Needless to say that usually isn't a good sign and that is true in this case. Tom Fischer decided not long after he blew the car apart to pursue his dream of becoming a LEO (Law Enforcement Officer). As a result, I had to do the walk of shame and drag the car home in a million pieces shortly after the metal work got completed.
On the bright side, Darrell Davidson agreed to take on the project without too many demands or too much humiliation for not bringing him the car in the first place. The rolling shell is at Darrell's now and he and Billy are about to get fired up on it. He's doing paint and body, and a bunch of other stuff, but me and MPD are doing the front subframe, engine, rear axle, interior and a bunch of the assembly. How much depends on time and how much Apple Pie Moonshine I can truck up to Darrell's... Currently the front subframe is about complete, and before long we'll be ready to drop the engine in. The engine just needed cleaned up, painted, and all the components refinished and detailed. That too is mostly complete. Here's a few pictures. Hopefully the next update won't take another 6 months. We plan to make the TA Nats, and of course there is MCACN in November. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Man, that is a thing of beauty. When you're done with that fixture can I borrow it for Gramma's car? I am itching to tear something apart and rebuild it...again.

Beautiful detail work on the chassis/ engine. Of course, my eyes kept drifting to the Red car in the background.

That is the making of a new high bar in restoration!
Darrell's bodywork and paint on a newly skinned body. Plus, Bobs attention to detail on the chassis and engine, and all things complete. Can't wait to see results in August. Not sure why a magazine not documenting this?
