Default Hurst Shifter For Trans Am

I acquired the whole trans/Hurst shifter set up from a 78 Trans Am and now I need to get a shifter for my 67 GTO. The Trans Am shifter is offset to the center where mine needs to come out straight up. This whole assy is like new and would like to just replace the shift rod holder (the part that has the offset) and use the rest of the unit (main body, shift rods etc.) But looking on YouTube on how to replace the housing, it looks like this is a, don't-dissassymble-this-part, piece. I guess there are a lot of springs and other pieces inside it. Now my question. Has anyone taken the whole Hurst shifter apart and replaced just this piece? Or can I buy the new main body for a 67 and just sell this one for a 78 Trans Am and still use all theses rods etc.?

This is what I need but replacing it may be a headache:
