Just wondering how long it would take to put a new lares# 974 rebuild power steering box into a stock 1964 GP 389 ..no AC...stock manifolds and exhaust...Are there any mods to make ? Any of you old machanics have a book on times given for that procedure. Drive car into shop ...have them do the work....and drive home...Just so I have a ball park idea of hours.. thanks

This at best should be a 2-3HR ordeal, barring any rusted/broken hardware issues.
Overall pretty straightforward. Just for giggles below are the pages from the 1966 Motors flat Rate Manual;

The toughest part will be pulling off the pitman arm, but assuming they have the proper puller and an air wrench it shouldn't take long. You should probably replace the rag joint while you're at it,
