My Ventura is getting a Butler 467
I bought this engine from a longtime friend yesterday. A 467 with fuel injection with a 4L80e Trans seems too fancy of a engine ( like a tux on a homeless guy) for my car.

se428bandit, I really like your '72 Ventura and '71 T-37 post coupe...nice cars. The sleeper aspect of the Ventura with the factory look is awesome.

Well after some obstacles (column shifter, 6al box, finding the correct electric fans, radiator) it's finally running, so I drove it to the muffler shop, again. Hooker and Mad dog headers aren't the same length. Next is to figure out which WFO air cleaner will work.

I went from 6X heads to Edelbrocks with the new engine. I finally got to drive it today without fuel issue and distributor problems, it's going to be fun. It will smoke the tires at 40 mph in second gear.

I may need to put round port headers on a 74 X body with column shift. What should I know? Really like to use a 2" primary if possible. Thanks, Stuart |

Probably aint gonna happen without moving the tube(s). Don't even think you can get one remotely in place. You need that area to position the front of the header in place. 2" is a big tube to maneuver.

What header (brand, etc.) would you suggest as a starting point? I'm pretty sure I'll need the largest practical primary diameter. Stuart |

Slick, if you use D-port heads, I also had Hooker Super comp headers and had no issues using the original column shifter.

That Lokar cable is exactly what I'll need! My heads are round port, so the Hooker SC won't work. I've heard that the Doug's headers for round ports fit very well, but I guess the 1-7/8" tube is a compromise I'll have to live with. Engine probably wants 2.125, I know that ain't happening. But had some hopes that 2" might fit. Thanks again! Stuart |

Can't find them on their site, and Butler doesn't list any for either 67-69 Firebird or X Body. Stuart |
