If you don't already have this very hard to find oil pressure sending unit, you might want to look for one at Norwalk (NOS or used). I found none of the aftermarket pieces would work correctly on the 65-66 full size gauge packages.

Trunk weatherstrip done. Great ...

Rear tail panel moldings polished out. Awesome. Installed panel but the middle 2 attaching studs not sticking in far enough and the spinning washer nuts aren't getting enough grip for me to get them on and there is a space between the tail panel and the body. ???? I'll get back to it later but any advice would be welcomed.

Thanks

Pics of the issue? If they are the two on the far outside edges, I thought they were alignment pins

I just used the outside nuts first and kept working in and it eventually pulled it in enough to get the nuts on them. Then it snugged up the panel. Looking great.

I wasn't happy with the 50 year old nuts / flanges so I found new ones that are coming in the mail. Then I'll just take 5 minutes and replace them with brand new nuts since they'll be visible to the naked eye.

What a great build thread this is. It already looks really good. A lot of work but it must be fun to get all the pieces together

OK ... lost my storage and my friend was kind enough to allow me to use his barn while he moved his '73 Mach I Mustang to a friend's garage some 20 miles away. So now I'm forced to elicit help ... and get this moving quicker ... much quicker. We started piecing together about 3 weeks ago ... and I'm blown away by how many parts are on the car! LOL

So without further ado ... and remember I've never done anything like this before so be gentle ...

This is my last day to work on the car in the garage that I had for the past 4 years ... it's going to be moved that same day about 4 weeks ago ...

(1) Rear window in ... original. I was going to install the original windshield but they recommended that it wasn't up to snuff and I wouldn't be happy. Ordered a new one and it's already here but I'll have it installed later.

(2) Engine unveiled for the first time in a long time (other than my semi-regular rotating of the engine to move the oil around).

(3) Motor Mounts installed and the starter is installed. Notice we use the original starter brace. Too many cars have them taken off and never put back on. I'm thinking that it's a good thing to have.

(4) Bellhousing is on and engine is going to be bolted in. Notice that the Value Covers aren't in mint condition. Those are the originals and they will be replaced in later pictures from the following couple of weeks. Engine went in with no issues and bolted up just fine.

Will load up more tonight or tomorrow ...

(1) car is now in the new location. Brake booster and M/C installed (the brake lines were installed months earlier ... I already posted pics I believe).

Notice: I put a dual M/C on the car for all the obvious safety reasons.
Reminder: The car originally came with 4 wheel power drums and now has 4 wheel power discs ... used the Scarebird system. Installed easily ... except the rear pads needed to be shaved because the bracket isn't right and causes way too much rubbing of the rear pads.

(2) all the brake lines are SS and all are custom bent. They look amazing, simple, organized, straight, etc. Hopefully they perform as well as they look!

(3) Under rear body ... driver's side ... Koni Classic ... adjustable. All springs are new from Eaton the original manufacturer in 1966.

(4) Under rear body ... passenger side

(5) Pumpkin/Rear ... all brake lines are SS and custom bent.

(1) I had restored an original gas tank but it took me so long to move the project forward they just came out with a repop ... and when I saw how nice they were I decided to go that route and sell my restored gas tank and my non-restored one as well.

The straps are original and restored as is the hardware.

(2) The original Muncie is installed ... looks great ... it's rebuilt

(3) The original tripower BUT we had an issue with the front carb ... it's not the right air horn but the casting on the bowl is correct. So I have to get another air horn and have it plated.

The tripower is plasted as original and the carb rebuilder who sent it out is no longer in business ... so I've got to find a guy to do it.

Anyone have an extra top plate?

(4) &(5) ... more tripower pics ...

I'm done for tonight but more pics coming tomorrow or so because there's more to show.
