I can buy another 9" 3rd member with the right gears and converter for a different car. The new issues with traction will be interesting. Car just grabs and goes right now. Bet that changes. We do have a top notch chassie/traction guy at out track. Steve Qkiss. Thing is, in bracket racing tuning the car to full potential does not help me much. I used to play with this and that on my first 3 time runs and just concentrate on the launch on my 4 and final run. I started taking home the trophys when I stopped playing with the car so much and just driving it. Last edited by Dragncar; 10-02-2017 at 06:09 PM. |

What about all the U tube videos of him running 7.70s and 7.80s with CVs. Still, never has answered my question of his best CV time. Was it 7.65 ? Were drag radials on the car ? I wonder what he paid out of his pocket for the CV top end ? Was it a big freebee ? Did the new 410cfm E heads ever get a proper chance. Did he dyno it with the same cam as the 370 E heads ? We all know 40cfm means you put in a bigger cam and probably new converter. Was he not happy with the 2x4 intake for the E heads. It just seems to me, if you run 7.71 with 370 E heads and get a 410cfm set with proper intake, cam, converter and gears you would AT LEAST see a tenth difference. Should be even more if done right. Was it done right ? Or did he dyno it with the same cam the 370 engine had, had a "lazy air" thing going on because he was to cheap to buy a new cam, got upset and then have some guy tell them we will give you a new wiz bang CV top end. Then put it all together with a ci/crank change and the thing only goes from a 7.71 to a 7.65. What was his ci with the 370 E heads ? And what a gorgeous car. |

The point is, while cool the heads do cost 5K. Then the special one off intake, special cam and headers are expensive. You can buy a set of std pushrod E heads from Wilcox for 3300$ that go 374cfm ! A lot of Pontiac performance guys have 2" round port headers and Victors in their garage. Used std Pontiac rollers are not hard to find. You can make real power with the above stuff for not a whole lot of dollars. That is a real option for some, its a smart move. They(RAVs) have to beat the pants off it to make it worth the extra dollars. Not saying they cant beat the pants off them. Now the H&M RAVs not cheap, but the real deal is often not cheap. What are you going to say when a Pontiac NA door car goes 6s. Or the new billet block one sets the all time Pontiac record. Warps, whatever. They are far from cheap. Have their own issues, canted valves on a Pontiac blocks is not easy. Still a BBC head on a Pontiac, whats cool about that. |

So, you know Steve Qkiss AND Mike Lewis. Between Marcella, Scott Brown, Steve, and Mike I should be alright.
