A friend asked me to take his 65 Lemans hood to the swap meet and try to sell it but neither of us know what to ask for it. It's in very good shape except for some small surface rust spots in one section.
Can anyone here give me an idea of value? I know that being a Lemans hood it won't bring as much as a GTO one.

50 to 100 dollars.
It'll be a tough sell, not much demand.

Don't know what they're worth these days, but back in the 80's and 90's up here in the mountains when it snowed we used them for sleds. With the curved nose in the front they worked pretty good!

I was thinking that but wanted some more expert opinions. Also, I apologize for posting this in the wrong forum.
One more question. Is it one year only?

Fits '65 through '67, trim holes would be the only difference.

Yeah, little to no demand. I tried for half a year to sell my rust free 66 LeMans hood for $50 with no takers. I eventually cut my it up and used the sheet metal for patches.

Cut a hole in it and label it as SD/CLONE/TRIBUTE HOOD, Scoop not included

I've taken the hood bubble from rusted out front and side metal '65-'67 GTO hoods and grafted the hood scoop from same to a good '65-'67 tempest/lemans
hoods.Same with a front end damaged GTO hood.Save that bubble scoop from rusted, damaged GTO hoods and all you need is a good '65-'67 tempest/lemans hood! |

I didn't get a looker today at the hood. Still have tomorrow and Saturday.

I would start at $200. Its a nice clean hood ,and that is a fair price for the person who needs it. Unless someone needs it, they probably won't touch it. To me, its easy to store, so I would not be that inclined to give it away for nothing

Didn't even have a looker all three days of the swap meet. The owner had a $100.00 price tag on it. I fared much better selling off enough old parts to pay for an Edmunds Custom aluminum dual carb intake for my Pontiac straight 8 project. And, after that I still have enough to get the floor pans for the 39 and 50 Pontiacs.
