I’m having a heck of a time with an electrical problem that keeps the blower motor from working on a 70 GTO convertible. As it’s single digits here with lots of salt on the road I’d like to hire someone to come to the house to fix so I can move this project along. If I can’t find someone, can any body recommend a shop in the area where I could take it? I’m in Mount Clemens/Clinton Township area. Thanks

What's the problem? Maybe post over in electrical or '70 section. Shouldn't be that hard to fix.

Has a long thread in the Heating and Cooling section with schematics etc.

Installation of ambient air switch is blowing a fuse. Could be a short to ground in the power feed to the AC clutch down stream of the ambient switch, could be other issues also.
Needs some quality time with a VOM and a schematic in hand.

Some of my commercial contractors use Masonic Auto Electric in Fraser at Masonic and Groesbeck. I haven't used them, but the guys that I know that have say they are good and fair pricing. Hopes this helps. Also, Harper Auto Electric on Harper between 10 and 11 mile. I met the owner , Tom Nepa, through a buddy. He's suppose to be good also, although I have never had to use his services. He's a car guy. Hope this helps!

Think we may have solved it thanks to heating and cooling tech forum. Thanks for the info about Masonic, I go by there all the time. As for Harper, I went there about 10 yrs ago when the oil pressure gauge on my yellow 72 didn't work. They said they wouldn't touch something that old? These cars are getting so old a lot of places don't want to work on them.........Thanks, BN

The good thing about these old cars is that they are pretty darned simple as electronics go. Get yourself a decent meter and keep asking questions. You'll be able to fix most problems yourself.
The thing about electrical problems is that they are usually very easy to fix...the hardest part is diagnosing the problem. That's where prints, the meter and THIS FORUM come in.
