Default Starter solenoid

I have the white and yellow going to the positive on the coil. Is that right?

The yellow goes back down to the starter. There is also a purple with the yellow near the starter. Which terminal do they go onto? One says R And the other S.

On the coil I have the negative and the condenser which is also grounded because it is attached to the coil bracket. Is that correct?

Assuming this is a stock resto, the white should be the resistance wire, and goes to the coil +. Yellow is the resistor bypass to give full 12v during crank, and that should attach to the coil + up top, and to the "R" terminal down below. The purple is the solenoid power to for cranking, and goes to the "S" terminal. Sounds like you got most of it figured out.

I can't remember what color the resistance wire was, but it had a woven insulation.

This might help. You have a 67, IIRC.

Thanks guys. I'm going to have to take you out for a ride and dinner in this thing when it's done.

Anyone have a starter wire tube laying around?

Does the positive from the battery go through a tube also our is it just plastic tied to the frame?

Does the positive cable go along the back of the front member then follow the fuel line and go under the motor mount?

Hmm... Best I can offer is in this link, figures 12.5 and 12.8.

I ran mine right along the front side of the crossmember, tied right to the fuel return line. Once it got to the fuel pump side, it runs back under the mount to the starter. It worked well, but not sure if it is factory correct.

It came across the front cross member then right along the oil pan to the starter. There is a metal clips that bolt to the oil pan right under the fuel pump to hold the wire. Then the wire goes above the motor mount to starter.,.

On one website I saw metal clips that pop into the frame like brake line clips. On another site I saw plastic clips. Which is right?

The plastic ones that pop in are for the battery cable along the front of crossmember. It shows in the parts manual in the link above that was provided by squid.

Glad you could get in on it, SilverBullet. I don't play in the resto world because I don't have the patience. But I try to get as close as reasonably possible! My setup is similar to 1967, but a little more 2018 with zip ties!
