On that map the closest one I won’t name I wouldn’t let him put a muffler on my lawn mower. The next closest is who I used. The rest are 30/45 mins away and I just don’t trust it that much yet. These magnaflow are a lot quieter than the black widows which may as well have been straight pipe. I have the Doug’s headers with the 3.5 inch outlets going into a Pypes 3 inch mandrel bent exhaust. I didn’t want crush bent pipe. No one around here mandrel bends. That’s Atlanta 160 miles from here

Drove to a car show last night and as I was pulling in the sharp left hand turn made a terrible scrubbing noise but after thorough inspection I can’t find it and it doesn’t do it consistently so I don’t know

I am gonna try to do the door panels myself. I have dome carpet many times before so that is no problem. My door panels have the templates on the back as to where to cut for the door handles and such but they are totally smooth and have no indicators as to where the clips or screws that actually hold them on go. Do any of you guys know of any videos or if you could give me some guidance that would be great.

Ok carpet is going in this week. I installed the shifter hump a while back. Not sure it’s in the right place but I just self tap screwed it down so it can be moved if not. May have to enlarge the small round hole the shifter comes thru but no big deal. So what do you guys do to shield the carpet from the water that would spray up thru that hole? I have everything painted and rustoleum applied thoroughly to the hump but I don’t want water coming thru that hole and soaking the back of the carpet.

This car hates me. The front tires did not rub at all until I had to take the swaybar off. I can’t possibly see how that mattered but nothing else was changed but now my front end has a bigger rake and it’s scrubbing. I swear to god nothing changed by my hand. Do springs settle? Here is a before and after pic. Look how much more tire is showing at first. Do I need springs to bring it up? I think it looks ok if I can get the scrubbing aligned out.

Swaybar returned 3/4 of an inch to ride height. Doesn’t sound like much but improved the looks and eliminated the scrub.

Well next Thursday I’m gonna make a 500 mile round trip drive to the Run to the Sun car show in Myrtle Beach. After I get back (18th) I will be taking my car to a local carb shop to have the carb dialed in perfectly to my combo. I wish I could do it before but he doesn’t have an opening.

Wish me luck. I’m off on a 600 mile round trip adventure. Going to The Run to the Sun in Myrtle Beach. This will be the first real test. Please pray for me!

Man this has been a blast and considering the headliner and back quarter boards aren’t done I didn’t expect this kind of reception. I am tired of talking to people though LOL. I had two people ask me for a price but it’s not for sale.

Putting in adjustable Upper rear control arms to stop the vibration. Everything is going good. Car runs and drives good other than some tuning things that pop up here and there. I am very pleased and appreciate all the support I’ve gotten on this LONG journey.

Thank you! I still have to put the quarter panel boards on the inside and do the headliner but that’s gonna be a while. Got some home projects that are taking up all the money

So I got stuck in bumper to bumper traffic yesterday for about 30 mins. This is my take away and any help would be appreciated. My car runs at the thermostat (180) or lower as long as I am moving. In the traffic it got up to 203 before I got antsy and turned the AC off and rolled down the windows. As soon as I did that the temp started dropping, I mean immediately. I started moving again so I never got to see just how far it would fully drop but it was obvious it was under control. I know 203 isnt overheating but I didnt want to find out what my upper limit is on a 4 lane highway. I am gonna take it and see if its charged properly in case thats whats taxing the engine so heavily but short of that does anyone have any suggestions?

Little update. After terrible gas mileage with this Double Pumper and just generally not being satisfied I am having Cliffs former partner Ray Klemm build me a custom quadrajet. Anything I need to know before I make the swap in a couple weeks? I am so stoked

Well I can’t replace the shocks because the 3 inch tail pipes are in the way. I can’t unbolt them and even if I could I can’t get them between the axle tube and the pipe. I’m going Tuesday afternoon to have the pipes cut off and 2.5 inch pipes in their place. Not real happy about crush bent tailpipe but it is what it is.
