I have a Pontiac and a BBC, both with quick fuel carbs. I picked Holley since they are the same architecture.

Carter AFB "Competition Series" made by Weber.... with manual choke. One in the box as a spare, but with electric choke.

My current 68 GTO came with a factory 70 intake, factory 69 428 Q-Jet, moderate cam and stock manifolds, seemed to work great, no issues with starving.

I always tended to get better results on the street from the HSD intake and the Holley 780 man. choke vac. 2nds was a very good carb right out of the box for my application, 400/moderate cam/headers.

With a crisp tune there didn't seem to be a huge difference in mileage that I can recall although performance was definitely on the up side.

I wish I had the stock twice barrel on my Luxury LeMans just for the cool factor of being original! It was originally a two barrel single exhaust car and the first owner converted to a qjet and dual exhaust. I love the exhaust but these low power 350 broom stick cams are done by 4500rpm so there is no need for a qjet.

2003 Gran Prix multiport injection.
1962 4 cylinder single Rochester 4bbl
1962 389 Rochester 2bbl Tri-Power. Tri-Power was my vote on the poll.

I am not surprised by this, but happy with the result. Pontiac built allot of tri-power engines and they were well thought out, great street performers. I have been playing with them for over 30 years, and they still hold up, have good driveability, and perform well. The look is great, either with the one giant air cleaner or the three little chrome ones. Compared to what was available in a 4-bbl before the Q-jet, tri-power was the awesome induction system. (2X4 bbl. excepted). The sound of all 6 barrels wide open can't be compared to a single Carter or Holley 4-bbl. Even the giant secondaries on a Q-jet can't quite match the sound of a properly performing tri-power.

No need for the 4BBL but it will give better mileage

Quadrajet. Bought recommended parts from Cliff. Runs like a champ, after hot shut down and sitting for weeks it evaporates fuel as others mentioned. I just pump and crank for short intervals till bowl fills. Not that big a deal.

I have ran rebuilt Holley's and Q-jets, both work great, the Q-jet was better with the electric choke, and mileage.

But being a computer guy, I converted to port EFI using MegaSquirt to control fuel (Batch fire) and timing (controlling a gutted HEI distributor). Not sure I'll ever go back to carbs, having complete control of timing and fuel at every point at RPM and load is awesome, and I can change settings on the fly, no need for tools (other than a laptop or tablet) or spilling fuel.

When my heap finally gets together, which it’s moving at the pace of a turtle in molasses, it will have a single Q-Jet (a ‘68 divorced choke unit) for my 67 GTO.

I have a 17057274 Q-jet. Started out by stripping it down and flattening the air horn. Performing all mods as per Cliff. Installed all new parts supplied by Cliff. Put it on my 455, set the tune and haven't had a problem.

Cliff built Q-jet on my Formula. Stock Q-jet on my '73.

I used to have one of the old Holley spread-bore double pumper 650 cfm carbs on my Formula back when it was still otherwise stock. I never noticed any performance difference with that carb. Wish I still had it, think it would be a good choice for the 350 I want to put in the '73.
