74 replacement Front Bumper and filler panel
Where do I go to get a front bumper for the 74-75 bird/trans am? I could find a few older posts on here about this subject but nothing current. What is the latest news on frt bumpers? looking for any material as long as the fit/look is correct.

1974-1975 TA Front End
Not sure if you are in need for this piece.
I took it off a 1974 Firebird about 20 years ago and is complete and not damaged. Let me know if you are interested either way, thanks. Paul |

His post says he's looking for a bumper. The bumper is not reproduced so far as I know. It's a metal sub-structure with urethan molded to it. Most are chewed up because Pontiac was still supplying bumper jacks and the owners would get the jack in wrong trying to change a flat. The result was ripped urethane. They also dry out and flake something awful if they're left out in the weather.
How bad is the bumper you have?

I have focused on the 70-73 body styles in the past but the 74 is my latest undertaking.
Thanks for the offer 74 SD455 Formula. How much do you want for the lower valance? Critter, Car has no front bumper at this time. Lost in the shuffle I was told. Local salvage yard had a '75 front bumper a few months ago but it was missing some urethane. Should I pick it up? No fiberglass or carbon fiber re-makes out there? Was hoping for a bit better news...

74 bumper
I came across this fiberglass repo when I was doing the resto on my 74 Formula.
http://www.texastransams.com/images/..._75_Bumper.jpg I was able to fix my bumper so I never bought one of these. They also have the splash pan too. Good luck with the project!

The black rubber section is repairable with traditional two-part urethane bumper repair material, similar to how a 70-73 nose would be repaired. As long as the metal backing is rust free you won't run into issues.

My 74 original filler panel cracked after about 30yrs. Bought nos lasted about 15yrs now it's cracked in several places. The material must deteriorate over time. I was wondering how the fibreglas would fit and look?
