Cliff, this is a good time to ask this question. The guy at Everyday Performance sells an elec choke conversion for divorced choke models. Do you have any experience with these ? Do you know of anyone who has had either a good or bad experience with them ?

I'm not a Holley guy, at all. But, I bought a 455 Ventura bracket car, which had a vac sec Holley on it. It worked real good, so I kept running it. I don't know the model number, since the choke tower was removed. It has straight leg boosters, a metering block on both ends, and the quick-change vac sec deal, for quick spring changes. I assume it is a modified version of the common straight leg 750cfm 3310 series. It was on a Torker 2 intake, on a 455 engine. Don't have a clue how it would run on a Q-jet intake.

I ran across a carb thread on the GTO forum. A guy did some testing, and for his street 400 found that a Quick Fuel SS-680-VS appeared to be the best carb, of those he tested. Some may find his info interesting. Some won't.

I always liked Quickfuel stuff because the owners were Marty Brown and Marvin Benoit, two guys I worked with at Holley in the 70s.
Marty was a VP for Holley at the time and Marvin was Holley's best Dyno Operator. He did a lot of carb dyno tuning too.

So They were both really good guys, (Marty RIP)
and build great carbs when they started Quickfuel carbs.

Never had a issue with their stuff.
