I am in the process of restoring my 66 lemans from ground up. It began 9/2012. I failed to take photo's and document bolts, screws and clips locations. Everything got thrown into moving boxes and stored until 8/2017. I have a factory service manual. My question is this this.

Is there a schematic for bolt, screw and clip locations showing types and sizes.

Honestly, I would consider getting a parts car that would help you with the million questions your going to have during your restoration. I have done this multiple times and it really helps. Things like, how does that wire run, what clip goes here, etc. etc. You also have another source for parts by having the parts car and can take the best of the two cars parts and use them

Like you said, big mistake. It's not always easy even when you document because you'll always miss something or lose something.
Factory assembly manual would help somewhat but I've never seen one for the 66? I have seen them for '67. In that case, you may find the part numbers for some of the bolts, screws and clips but then you'd have to have access to what those part numbers go to.
Someone on this forum who has one torn down and DID take pics and bag the parts or a parts car as mentioned above would probably be your best bet.
Start a thread in the '66-'67 forum and ask for help. Someone has one torn up I'm sure.
I'm going to try to pull, at least, the doghouse off of mine this summer but it'll be a while.
The '67 manual is close enough that it would be worth having. I'm going to get one myself.

my thought

dump em out on a table covered with card board ....

start playing match game with them ... putting sets in piles

once in piles ... put an "A" next to 1 pile then B C etc

post a fairly good picture of them ....

there are very few bolts that are used in more than one place....

then we can start ID ing them for you by letter code

many assembly kits are available for re assembly if you not doing a

exact coreect resto as many foundry marks change on the heads every couple years

just my .05 worth ....

most tiny stuff is interior or firewall

dirty bolts suspension or under hood...

car color paint helps ....

pictures help the most ... with a co ordinating label so we can id them 4 u

I think I have that manual out in my shop. If I remember correctly a lot of the images are hard to see. I'll check it out and let you know. Like others have suggested, you can post help wanted threads in the 66-67 forums. You should get all the help you need there. I know I did.

Yeah, most of the factory assembly manuals are about like that as far as I know...but the upside is that some of those nuggets that are useful are not to be found anywhere else. Count yourself somewhat fortunate... The '67 and '69 assembly manuals are the only thing available at all for a '66 or '68 owner...that's me by the way...lol

I agree with you.
There are some nuggets. I know my decision to tear down my car with no photo's or identification of nuts and bolts. Will require any and all nuggets of information.
