Default A or F?

Hey Racers...

I have been keeping my eyes open for a new project, with choice #1 being a 65 A Body, or #2, a 67-69 Bird. My plans are to keep the car relatively street friendly, but make several trips to the track throughout the summer. The current plan is to move my ~600hp 461 & TH400 from my 73 to the new chassis

Assuming either car choice will require a 6pt bar, new rear end, suspension, etc. Are there any big pros or cons between the A or F body for this type of build? I should note that I am not looking to build a big dollar car- just something that looks presentable, but gets it done on the track without breaking the bank.

Thoughts?

.

The lighter the better. I'd do the F body. Put all the Calvert Racing suspension on it with some Moroso front springs and get it.

I would do an F or X body: leaf springs.

love my bird. Don't get me wrong. But the A body's are sexy.

However, this will almost certainly call for a junkyard LS. ^ ^ ^

When it comes to Pontiac, you cannot have your cake cheap and still have it be edible.
