Its going to put a whole lot more stress on your legs and ankles . Now imagine you had the power in your legs to peddle it so hard that you would lose traction. You would most likely hurt yourself from the stress of the force needed to do this .. When a turbo motor gets into boost expecily at high boost when making alot of power , it dont care what gear its in . Its going to just turn on and spin the tire or throw you through the seat if it dont spin .. The crank is getting that stress just like your legs and ankles would...

Ive fractured 3 cranks this way with my 4 cylinder starting out in second gear trying to get better traction. And it still wounds up spinning the tires .. Its really hard to bog down a turbo motor. N/A motor is easy too do that... Not the same animal at all..

Im not saying this is going to happen to him . Im just bringing it up so he doesent over look it is all...

I can see where you are coming from Charlie,
and agree, with high boost the Turbo Engine is still going to make outstanding torque and HP.

One reason why Marty Palbykin was able 194-196 MPH with his little 406 cid engine with the Turbo 400 Trans skipping 2nd gear and going from Low Gear to High Gear. A lot more load when the car was moving and yet it still went over 190 mph at Norwalk with 406 cid.

Your cranks were not a Kellogg Forged RA-IV SD 3.75" stroke crank either. (Marty's was.) Crank was mine before Marty bought it.

Your engines and Cranks have nothing to be ashamed of, lol!

Every crank thats been in this engine has beed magged before and after . The first crank lasted the longest, say about 4 years . That one for about 3 years it had 3.73's behind it and never saw over 25 psi at no more then 5800rpm. Then i turned it up to 30psi. Then tore it down for a refresh because was having blowbye issues , thought i burnt a piston but turned out nothing was wrong with it . Had the crank magged and came back fine. Still on the first crank here. Put it back together and got fuel injection now. But now i installed the cam in at 108 instead of 110. So now the compression was 5 psi higher when cranking it and the power band got lowered by a few rpms. At this point i decided to change gears to 3.50's . Drove it like this for another year and not too soon after that it started to knock . Tore the engine down and number 3 rod bearning got pounded . 3 rod jurnal was cracked as well as #3 main jurnal.. 2nd crank I started exploring higher boost levels. Went as high as 44 psi. That lasted about a year . At this point i figured it was the high boost doing the cracking . 3rd crank well i was still having bad lag so i decided to install the cam in on a 106 because Tim at bullet told me i could get away with it being that far advanced . So i did. It deffinitly helped but it was too explosive were power was coming in way too soon. I was playing around 1 time in third gear where i was at 30 mph and at very low rpm and floored it until the boost came in . Boost came in around 3200 all in by 3500. All it did was spin the tires like being on ice . So third gear with 3.50 rear gear and mickey 275 pros for a tire. Try doing that N/A , no way! Right after that it developed a knock. Took it apart and NOW the whole crank was cracked . Number 1 through 5 mains was cracked, as well as all the rod jurnals. So what i feel i learned was loading the engine with power too soon with a lower gear in the car was stressing the crank too much . So now i put the engine back together with the 4th crank and the cam in on a 110 like the card says to. Its been in the car now for almost 2 years now, ive been as high as 36 psi and so far everything seems fine. I check the oil filter alot to see if there filings and so far nothing. With the other 3 cranks when i checked the filter there was nothing but filings everwhere. So when you see filings at that magnitude ive learned to pull the motor and everytime time i had a spun or close to spun bearing that was pounded real bad. Always it was number 3 bearing too.. I gues thats where most of the load is?

Anyway, this is why i said what i said .. Just my experiance ... Take it for what you think it is...

It's a cast crank. Car weight is 3745 last tine I weighted it.
The car should be lighter this time around.
The car pulls a lot harder with the 3.42's, Feels like it's ripping the slicks
apart once I get into sec-gear. Shift lights on almost instantly from 1st -2nd.
I foot brake the car, and all this has been on the street, haven't been to
the track yet. I'm going to test the car at our local race place where the
hook is dam good, that should give some good info on the traction.
The drag radials didn't hook on the street but the slicks seam too.
