If I were running an event (or business) that I’m trying to grow I would accept any and all constructive criticism to help make it better for all. This goes for Rocks original post about the SRNs. I have been there too and felt it wasn’t as bad probably due to the size of the venue and being a show only.

Andi and Pete have been running this event for over 25 years and it continues to grow every year so they dont need your help! They know what they are doing and they do a great job!! Everyone has a great time there except a few like you complaining about golf carts. If you look at their website you will see the rules about motorized vehicles.

Like I mentioned before, golf carts and other modes of transportation are needed there since there is so much to see in a short amount of time. We dont need a few cry babies complaining just to have them taken away and ruining it for the rest of us.

This thread was about scooters at car shows and you changed it to golf carts at Norwalk and then felt the need to get Andi and Pete involved. So thats my beef.

OK, whether it be bicycles, scooters, golf carts, or whatever; since people are involved, there will be abuse. HOWEVER, as others have mentioned, one cannot diagnose by looking if some need the help. I do not mind those that need the help (glad they are getting out and about), have sympathy for those that cheat, and can still enjoy the show if pets (other than service dogs) are not allowed.

Had one customer with a pet monkey. The monkey seemed to like me, and jumped all over me. The customer laughed. Needless to say, he didn't receive any discounts! Have seen dogs, cats, monkeys, ferrets, snakes, birds, etc. at the shows. Virtually all of the animals are out of their comfort zone, and are thus unpredictable. And of course, none of the pet owners will believe THEIR pet will cause a problem.

If you ever witness a dog fight between a Great Dane and a Doberman in the midst of a crowd of people, cars, vendors, etc., you will know what I mean.

Have yet to see a service dog that was not more well-behaved than most of the people. Service dogs are certainly welcome.

And yes, I have had pets (dogs and cats) my entire life, but the pets stay at home, where THEY are comfortable.

I agree with your views on bringing pets to shows, or for that matter to big public events of most any type - I was in my home town on Saturday for their big annual celebration and parade, and was watching all the people walking around with their dogs, and trying to keep them calm...with the crowds, random little kids trying to pet them, and people carrying food around, the poor dogs were having a hard time.

There are only TWO recognized service animals, Dogs and horses. Not quite related to this but customers bring dogs into my store and we usually have to mop up piss off the floor somewhere. My fav are the unleashed Pitbulls.
A few years back at our local "Big 3" swapmeet we were sitting around one evening when I heard a sound and remarked I just heard a Zebra! Sure enough here comes a lady walking one. The only golfcarts here are being driven bu the security patrols.
