Book said it had a 455, no real detail.
They went with 2.56s, finished 12th.

I did 167 MPH on my GPS in my 70 Lemans, let off I got scared!! I have skinnies and drag radials. It was steady but did not trust anyone not to cut into my lane.

I have an HO with 2.73's in my bird. With my tire diameter it calculates to 156 mph, no OD, T400. My answer to riding with the egg cars at 85mph and not revving like a crazy car. OD be more fun maybe......

I went 145 mph in a '74 Firebird with a 455, dual Q-jets, and a 2.41 rear gear. The car would go much faster, but we ran out of room. The theoretical top end on my '67 GTO with a TH400 and the 2.56 gears is 158 mph, but due to the design of the car, it won't get past 135....where the front end is almost off the ground, or at least it feels like it. Amazing how well the new cars stick to the road at high speeds.

I am much more practical - I need a truck. So, I bought a Durango SRT. It is probably the quickest vehicle I have ever had. 0-60 in 4.4 and 12.9 in the quarter are Dodge's testing claims and it's limited to 157 mph. Did I say this is a truck? Has launch control, AWD, electronically controlled suspension, huge brembo brakes, etc. and pulls my 3 every so 3600 lb enclosed trailer with a car that weighs about the same in it with no problem - has 8700lb tow limit. I'm no kid, but I sure as heck enjoy nailing this thing.

I once went 0-165 MPH in 2 seconds. I was in a plane shot off an aircraft carrier.
