Good luck to all. Keep an eye out for potential catastrophic weather in the Carolinas, and stay safe!

Saw the caravan of cars yesterday evening traveling from Bristol to Commerce. Some stuck in a big traffic jam in Ashville.

That was a beautiful drive but also brutal on some of the mountain roads! Driving to Bristol from Charlotte and back to Commerce took quite few victims. Unfortunately one competitor hit the rock wall along side the road and totaled his car Wednesday evening on the drive to Bristol. This year it looked like 85 cars had to bow out of the 380 that started on Monday. The heat, humidity, monsoons and the drives this year took its toll. The Hurricane and its weather never played a part in the week outside of the paranoia from the news outlets and the potential of getting caught in evacuation routes.
