Sorry to have been absent lately..................yes I have my cammer for sale.............but very little interest shown by buyers. I've had my share of lowballers........which is the ugly side of selling a car. I had one offer I quickly dismissed and now wish I had taken. The proposed offer and my price was $1000 apart and I asked the perspective buyer to meet me half way. No reply.

I thought I had it fairly priced but it seems the rust is the deal breaker. Everyone wants $5,000 off for rust and another $5,000 off for paint. So they basically want me to just sign over the title and make sure I give them a full tank of gas as well.

I had one guy who seemed interested in 6 cylinders and then I come to find out he's a lowballer............with the most insulting offer of all.

As the old saying goes: If you and I own the exact same thing, yours will be priceless and mine will be worthless, at least in your eyes..............funny how that works.

Sadly our Cammers will always be a hard sell.
I once had a negotiation up to 30K but felt it should be more.
I explained to them that it was not just the car.
It was the stock of parts, engines, brochures, books and other ephemera goes with it.
Needless to say I still have the '66

Best of Luck.

You are right Jeff. I guess my appreciation of this unique piece of history is not shared by many. I believe most of the offers I received were from buyers wanting to ditch the OHC and become just one of how many V8s 1966 owners.

I took a deposit on the car today.........buyer to pick up Wednesday.

Figured out the engine has a burnt valve. Buyer was well educated on the OHC. He picked out everything wrong with the car in a few minutes from body to mechanical.

We agreed to a price lower than what I had hoped to get. Maybe my pride got in the way. The offer I accepted was $500 less than I turned down last week. So my sales skill are even sad.

But it is going to a car enthusiast who's always wanted an OHC, Life moves on, and so must I. It's been a real experience with the Cammer.......not many can say that in their lifetime.
