Fantom Works - "Final" episode?
I just saw a commercial for Fantom Works and it said "Final" episode, not Season Finale. Looks like Motor Trend is already killing off what few good shows there are on TV. Now I'm concerned about Chasing Classic Cars as I have not heard a thing about that show. Well there goes the neighborhood.

Has anyone accidentally seen that stupid "Live, Love, Wrench" show?
That is the worst piece of trash I've ever come across. Some alleged husband and wife working on cars they purposely know little about, attempting to find out how to fix them along the way. Of course episode #2 involved them ruining a Trans Am. He would say something and she would them try to make it into some kind of sexual innuendo or look at the camera a raise an eyebrow. Vomit inducing. He actually said: "Oh look there, I dropped a nut" and she responds with one of those looks. |

I never like Fantom Works. Dan comes across as a jackass.
Flat spotted tires for everyone!

That’s a shame. Yes Dan was a little brusque, but this was a real deal car show with a great manager and team. I’ll miss it.

The only shows I might watch are Garage Squad, and Wheeler Dealers. The rest are rubbish.

I've always wondered how many customer's tires he had to buy. He sure as hell was rough on them. All in all, unlike most shows that don't show the problem with building cars with parts that don't fit, hidden issues, ect., he did and he did a good job of showing the "dark side" of building a car. I am going to miss that.

FW runs their shop not far from our office.
We're on 22nd and their on Hampton Blvd, not far from ODU. The show is total BS compared to whats really going on in house. He has had his fair share of legal issues on some of his projects. They really screwed up a friends absolutely stunning 1967 GP drop top.

I have to say that I enjoy watching the show. Dan seems to straighten out the messes that his customers bring through the doors. Did you see the one with the Avanti? What a mess! I think he does what his customers want done, and they seem to be happy with the results. They better have a water cooled credit card.,however.Lol!

I hardly ever believe the bill. Someone did a Studebaker pickup once, he handed them a $60,000.00 (or more) invoice. You can buy 3 nice ones for that and have change left over. Still, the work appears to be good as well as real.

I like the Fantom Works show less and less every time I see it. It's gotten to the point that I'll change the channel when it comes on. His phony "anger" at the condition of incoming cars, his ridiculous pricing ("we're gonna need at least $30k worth of parts to make your '76 Oldsmobile roadworthy"), and the staffs lack of mechanical skills have made it unbearable to watch. How many times has there been a car on there that has brake, steering or mechanical issues that seem to stump the mechanics at first- only to have it be something basic that any competent mechanic should pick up right away? Maybe it's made for TV drama, but it turns me off. And the arrogance- might as well be watching Graveyard Cars, another one I can't watch.
