I’ve owned my own roofing company for a little over eight years now and love it 100% and I started it out of necessity because my back was against the wall financially when I was working for my best friend and his roofing company.

Started off slow and kept praying and paying my dues and I completely love it and do not advertise and the referrals just keep pouring in.

I enjoy helping homeowners get their properties back in good condition with upgrades and I’m able to manipulate my schedule so I never miss my daughters various sporting events and other school activities.

I’m 52 and thanks to the lord still in very good physical condition and I don’t know if I would ever want to retire because I really enjoy what I do and I like getting up on roofs to do inspections for storm damage etc.

I met a man about a month ago that was 77 he was owned his roofing company for 51 years and he is like myself a one-man show and he still going out it but he hast to be careful in the heat now days he told me.

I so ent 6 years as an auto tech/service adviser, 12 years with NAPA, caught a break and have been working for a major aerospace manufacturer for the last 16, now serving as a Defense Program Manager.

I am Orthopedic Technician, did the same thing in the Army, going on 24 years now at current job. Now I mainly spend most of my time in the clinic , I miss the operating room some days. I work for a bunch of millionaires but would not trade lives with any of the Docs, well maybe their paycheck but not workload. They are all great guys and good to work for so that is why I have stayed for so long. Plus I do not work to hard most of the time. We currently have 30 Docs and growing. I am Site Coordinator at our Lvld clinic which basically means I hear complaints from patients to fellow employees, oh and have to attend monthly meeting woo-who. We are just about to open a new Surgery Center here in Lvld and not looking forward to how busy it is going to get around here in the near future.

I work in the outside shipping department at U.S. Steel. We ship out the 10in to 24in seamless pipe for oil and gas. Before this I worked as a dealership mechanic.

Retired 25 years as a Navy Seabee Chief Construction Electrician. (10 Active Duty, 15 Reserve). Also did 11 years as a diesel locomotive electrician / supervisor with Southern Pacific and Amtrak. For 29 years before I retired last year I worked for the San Diego Trolley transit agency as a Light Rail Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor / Project Manager. I designed and managed upgrades to the rail vehicles, shop equipment, and the restoration of two 1946 PCC rail transit cars that are used in service along side the latest Siemens vehicles. Had many offers for consulting after I retired but 50 plus years is enough. Retirement is sweet.

I was an elevator mechanic. Retired 9 years ago at age 58. Now I tinker with cars in my garage addition. So far I restored my '82 Corvette collectors edition, a '73 Jeep Jeepster for my niece , a '69 Firebird 350 4 speed that is for sale and currently restoring a '71 Chevelle convertible. I may repaint my '76 Trans Am.

Matt man I've been where you are going. I'm 70. Good for you. It's hard work but rewarding.Always do your best,flashing,nailing,(we liked hand nailing).Do not use wooden posts for pumpjacks. My technical background was in electrical engineering. Spent about 10 years in the corporate world managing test engineering departments at ITT and Northern Telecom. Left in the mid 80's and started a contract engineering/manufacturing company. It got pretty big (160 employees) and I sold in in the mid 90's. After a few years of retirement (in my mid 40's) I became a GC and built houses. I then joined my father's Home Inspection firm in 2000, took over the company in 2006. Enjoy the job as I get to deal with people from all over the world and all backgrounds. Not likely to retire but plan on slowing down in a few years to devote more time to fun!

Always worked 2 jobs because the teaching gig offered allot of freedom but not much $$$. Started my first paying job at 12 years old repairing small engines. Still have a business card!

Reliability engineer for product development. Have received paychecks for materials engineering, technology development, process development and reliability engineering. Got to help some really talented people develop copiers, EP printers, ink jet printers, electronics packaging, hard disc drives, optical disc drives, and consumer electronics.

I was fortunate to start when everyone from component supplier to manufacturing worked for the same company and had a shared goal. Is a different job now that suppliers and manufacturers make a profit by hurting ours!

I tell my wife a good day is when I get to plot graphs.. it's true!

I’m in show business, which means I had ten different jobs at any time.
1, I’ve been the Business Agent of my local Union for the past ten years. the International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees.
2, I’m a Set Lighting Electrician in movies and TV shows. Ive done lights in Breaking Bad and a bunch of other shows.
3, I’m the Master Electrician at our broadway sized theater.
4, I’m the head Arena Rigger at our local arena.
5, I run a snow plow company between all of my other various gigs.
