My first cell phone years ago was on 360 Communications which became Alltel and then was bought out by ATT. Never had many issues until ATT. They were supposed to upgrade everything after taking over Alltel but it definitely got worse not better. ATT blamed my problems on my phone but that was not the problem. It was their network and bad customer service. I also had Direct TV at the time and had my fill of their price increases. So when ATT and Direct TV became partners I dropped them both and got Dish Network for my TV and put my phone on Straight Talk. Now my bad phone seems to have very few problems. Hmmm. Direct TV harassed me for over a year to come back and I had to threaten them with legal action to get them to stop calling me. My wife had Verizon for a while but had nothing but billing issues all the time so she is on Straight Talk now. I just got a new-old IPhone 6 cause my battery is slowly dying on the present one. Afraid to activate it until necessary as have had very few problems with it since going to Straight Talk. We also have Sprint in this area but its hardly even usable. Jim

I know that might be beyond your comprehension that wireless companies need to have sales professionals in their employ, but they do.

No matter how new your phone is, if you are not within range of a tower that your provider has an agreement to utilize, it won't work.

I don't care which Iphone or Android phone you have - you are up the creek without the right provider if you want to make a call or use your data in areas that you can't pick up a signal from a tower or utilizing someone's wifi.

I seem to remember you claiming the tires on my wife's '72 Camaro were excessively worn from misalignment issues. Of course the brand new tires had been on the car for all of about 1 hour at the time the photo was taken...

I think most folks on the board already know that I was a territory manager for an ACDelco warehouse distributor for quite a number of years prior to my retiring from full time sales.

LOL! Oh the irony here Mr. Salesman. Don't you have a check to write for some vehicle work? There will always be a huge difference between a guy that Googles and writes checks versus a guy with skinned knuckles and dirt under his fingernails when it comes to vehicles. I will admit, I do not know every single thing about every single vehicle but at least I do not Google my knowledge. Something I know for a fact you cannot say or admit to because you will always be a "salesman" who cannot even keep his job history straight. I call that being a poser. Carry on.

It used to be very important which wireless you choose in the inland northwest, for coverage while travelling. Verizon kind of proved over time they were good. I've done a lot of installs at cell sites, design and build. So when picking lesser coverage carriers, they are riding on others towers and switching to their network to fill holes, so going with the big boys involves less network hopping at times.

Many don't know wireless isn't wireless. I've run miles and miles of fiber optic cable to cell sites. In todays world, the wireless part is only a mile or two. It goes optical across the country, and then back to wireless at the far end if calling a cell phone there. The phone companies main revenue isn't land lines anymore. They make money serving the wireless industry and hauling the traffic.

Money is also in being a tower owner and leasing spots to every Tom, Dick, and Harry cell company. When you see these towers now, they have tons of gear on them. It is multiple wireless companies, all hanging equipment.
