Let me guess, the first A-hole that jumped on you was a guy that goes by HOTRODPRIMER?

I've had my one and only thread I started deleted years ago on there. My first post wasn't a "proper introduction" however it was a comment on someone else's 41-48 Ford. I then started a thread with a question as to if anyone could share pics of their cowl vent assembly on 41-48 Fords, especially equipped with electric wiper motors as I was having a bad time trying to make everything jive. I was asked to post a pic of the the car itself which I did....shortly after the thread was deleted with no explanation, however I wasn't banned. I haven't tried to start a thread since then.

There is a 57 Safari 2 door wagon on the HAMB now, project car but pretty damn cool if you ask me.
I'm in upstate NY. Always willing to look. Thanks, Carmine.

The HAMB is a joke. Whatever good/useful information they provide is totally overshadowed by the asshat members and false sense of superiority.

That right there pretty much nails it. And those asshats deem themselves "hoodlums". That says it all.

Was your thread actually deleted, or was it moved to a different category?

Like I posted earlier, the rules are posted, and it is expected they are to be followed. I realize this is totally an archaic philosophy; but some actually believe the policy to be viable.

Yes, I had one thread removed; when I forgot to post prices on every item in a sell thread. I re-entered the thread, with prices on all, and no problem. I had one other thread moved to a different category.

Just out of curiosity, how would some of you throwing rocks at the H.A.M.B. treat someone on this forum that was building number-matching VW's and asking for help? Or maybe someone that had removed a Pontiac tripower from their GTO and was replacing it with a 289 Ford?

To quote Mr. Swayze from "Road House": "Be Nice"

People have removed engines from Pontiacs all the time and replace them with LS engines. Only similar asshats bitch but here they are told, "its his car and his money, he's entitled to do what he wants with it". End of story.

Its okay for the other side to state their case but only the HAMB will ban someone for not building what the HAMB likes.

When you first sign up over there, the rules are pretty clear:

The HAMB is dedicated to spreading the gospel of traditional hot rods and kustoms to hoodlums world wide. That's right; TRADITIONAL. If you've come here to discuss anything other than Hot Rods or Customs built in a style representative of 1965 or before, you've come to the wrong forum.

Even if you have come here for all the right reasons, don't expect posting to be easy. We don't cater to new fellas unless they show a dedication to spreading this tradition of ours first. We welcome young, old, foreign, and all; but our original members and our staff expect a certain level of respect and an effort to keep things true and on topic.

Maybe you are an old fart with a past. Maybe you are one of the guys that started this tradition we cherish. We built this place for you and your posts mean the world to us. Hop on and introduce yourself. This is your board.

Still reading? Then you must be cut out for this, right? We recommend you read some more. Check out all the forums, develop an understanding for how things work around here, learn the "do's"; and "dont's"; The key to a happy HAMB newbie is to understand the joint BEFORE you begin posting.

We have very few written rules here on the HAMB and that's the way we like it, but we won't hesitate to dump disruptive posters, ego freaks, or **** talkers. We are all here to learn and teach - please keep your other prerogatives on the sidelines.

Conversely, there are no rules on this board that say you can't put an LS engine in your Pontiac if you like. Two different boards, two different sets of rules. It's that simple.

I've been on the Hamb for a long time now and never had any problem with the rules. Really not sure why anybody would ever have a problem unless the rules were ignored in the first place.

I had a 1937 Ford streetrod with a custom paint job that was signed by the painter. My first (and only post there) was to ask if anyone had ever heard of this painter, the thread was immediately removed. I never asked why and never went back. Fxck em

I was building a hot rod. Wanted to use a Ford flathead until I found out it was going to cost about $15,000.00 to maybe get 200 horse. I said screw that and decided to go with a 400 SBC. 2-1/2 times the power at 1/3 the cost. I got 5 pages of flack, then the thread was locked.

Then, after seeing all these threads about '64 to '67 Buick Rivieras, I started a thread about '64 to '67 GTO's, Firebirds and Mustangs. HOTRODPRIMER was the first to bitch, then all of his cronies jumped in and the thread went POOF

My next thread was "Why Buick Riviera and no other mid 60's car". That thread lasted about 5 posts and one of the answers was "Because we say so".

As NEW64OWNER stated... "Fxck em"

I go on the HAMB every so often, we have a flathead powered '50 Ford as well. Anyway HOTRODPRIMER is a local guy to us that is the same way on and off the internet.

My condolences to you. I really don't ever want to see the guy. That guy needs to get a life and stop telling others how to run their's. He also needs to stop acting like he owns that place. I built up a good relationship with quite a few people there. Most of whom I still talk to but on the phone. I bailed a few days before Dictator Ryan changed the format, forgot my password and won't go back. I only stuck around because of the people I knew. Some of them bailed as well. Most were longtimers.

Yeah it's definitely not a site for everyone. I mainly go there now to look at the parts for sale and vintage S/S and AFX pictures.

It was deleted as my post count is still 1. Same name there as here. I have no reason to use any other name other than my own. I'm sure you can verify I have 1 post by a member search if that forum is at least that proficient.
As my thread was more of a tech thread imo, I didn't see a particular category it would have ideally fit in so I posted in the H.A.M.B. under General discussion. It is my understanding electric wiper motors are not a post 1964 thing but I could be wrong about that. The thread stayed up until I posted a pic of my car. Apparently it offended someone.

I think its funny and sad at the same time when that place gives builders like you and myself crap over period correct ideas but condones the use of S-10 chassis'. Its also a testament to the idiot that runs that place who's cars are a Buick Riviera and a hot rod with a blown BBC and an Art Morrison chassis. Yeah, that screams "traditional".
