I ordered my ‘64 in April. Seatbelts were optional. I think the price was $6.95–front seat only. Will post dealer invoice later to confirm.

My '65 (built in April '65 in Fremont) did not come with seatbelts. Didn't come with an outside rearview mirror, either.

Did you ever get the PHS on your 65? It should show, 414 = Less seat belts, $11.00 credit 602 = Mirror, outside LH, which would not be on your car “not checked”. Chris.

My KC Built April 1964 GTO has the same Metal Seat Belt Buckles as Bob Vidan's GTO.
These buckles were the same type of buckle as used on Parachute systems. They are the original and correct seat belts for the vehicle. A friend has a 64 GTO from Pontiac with the original Plastic buckles. Tom V.

Looks like seat belts were $11.01 when I ordered by '64.
Ordered the car 55 years ago next Monday, April 22.

Mine was built April '65 in Kansas City. I don't see a 602 option in my PHS docs. When I bought my car in 2013, it had no outside rearview mirrors. I put them (put a passenger one on, too.) on during the restoration that followed - I found it near impossible to drive LA freeways without them.

Chris, I'll have to look. I had the car for 25 years or more before I ordered the PHS, as I had the POP and knew what it was a tripower car. When I got the PHS, I was surprised my car originally had manual steering and no side view mirror. Somebody installed '65 power steering before I got it in '82. I'll have to look at the seatbelt credit on the PHS. When I got the car, it had the original carpet and no seat belts or seat belt holes. I added front seatbelts a few years after I got it, as I like wearing them.

I received numerous quality photos of this 64 via email from seller and from the looks of it, it shows very little wear throughout.
Console paint and the Factory correct “ivory” shifter button, along with a mint unused BFG Silvertown 7.50-14 spare tire and the Fremont style jack are impressive for a 55 year old GTO. BTW, the scratch from the key chain thingy is extremely common on 64-65 if you have anything other than a single key. Chris.

A hard look at the pedals, shifter, carpet, and the rest tells me it's a low mileage original survivor. Very exceptional car in this day and age. The 2 -speed automatic kills it for me, though. I'd have to cut the tunnel up and install a Kiesler 6 speed.
(just kidding!)

Dad and now Son have certainly taken good care of your unique 65 GTO over the past 54 years. My 65 has also been protected from chains, keys, etc. under the ignition switch. The Original owner took very good care of this automobile. It’s interesting to see the line between (upper instrument panel flat and lower instrument panel gloss) on this 64 and my 65. I love Factory Survivors. Chris.

My seat belts are exactly like Bob Vidan's. Mine was built Nov. 63 in Pontiac and belts were dealer installed (Boomershine Pontiac, Atlanta Georgia). I thought I had the wrong ones all this time.
